01 / THE PROOF
The miner changes the nonce until the hash is below the contract's target. Your wallet address binds the proof to you. The network and contract address bind it to this collection. The domain is keccak256 of DELISTED_GHOSTS_V1.
Every successful mint changes the round and challenge. A competing mint invalidates your old proof, so the browser starts fresh work. Finding a proof does not reserve a ghost. The NFT belongs to you when your mint transaction succeeds.
Mining runs locally on your CPU or a compatible WebGPU device. The browser verifies GPU results using the same CPU proof format before offering a mint. GPU initialization failures fall back to CPU.
02 / THE BELL, EPOCHS, AND DEMAND
The bell makes mining twice as easy outside Monday–Friday 09:30–16:00 New York time, including weekends. It subtracts one bit from the combined epoch and demand difficulty. Mint prices stay unchanged.
The contract uses the block timestamp when the mint executes. It computes New York daylight saving using the US rules in force since 2007. Exchange holidays and early closes follow the normal weekday schedule; future changes to time-zone law do not automatically change this contract.
Changing your device clock cannot change the target. A weaker after-hours proof can expire at the open, so the website refreshes the target and invalidates proofs that no longer qualify.
Each epoch adds one bit of baseline difficulty, doubling expected work. Fast minting adds temporary demand pressure, up to four more bits (16×).
A burst adds one bit per mint, up to four, and cools by one bit per ten seconds. Every eight mints, pace pressure rises if those mints took less than forty seconds, or falls if they took more than 160 seconds. Pace pressure also cools by one bit per sixty seconds without a mint. The larger of burst and pace pressure applies.
There are no penalties for holding ghosts or stocks, and no penalty for skipping a proof. More computing power can find proofs faster.
03 / EIGHT EPOCHS
| EPOCH | TOKEN IDS | MINT PRICE | BASE WORK |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1–1,024 | 0.006 ETH | ×1 |
| 2 | 1,025–2,048 | 0.006 ETH | ×2 |
| 3 | 2,049–3,072 | 0.012 ETH | ×4 |
| 4 | 3,073–4,096 | 0.012 ETH | ×8 |
| 5 | 4,097–5,120 | 0.024 ETH | ×16 |
| 6 | 5,121–6,144 | 0.024 ETH | ×32 |
| 7 | 6,145–7,168 | 0.048 ETH | ×64 |
| 8 | 7,169–8,192 | 0.048 ETH | ×128 |
Prices exclude network gas. The full supply is 8,192. A successful proof and the exact mint payment are both required. Reverted transactions do not retain the mint payment, but network gas can still be charged.
04 / ONE-OF-ONES
Eight Original artworks can be found through mining. Eight unique Relisteds can only be summoned.
To summon, own one ghost from each of the eight epochs. Choose an available Relisted and permanently burn all eight ghosts in one transaction. Each Relisted artwork can be claimed once. If another collector claims it first, the transaction reverts without burning your ghosts; network gas may still be charged.
Relisteds use token IDs 8,193–8,200 and never advance the 8,192 mining cap or reopen plots. The original summoner and all eight sacrificed token IDs are recorded permanently. Originals can be sacrificed too, but Relisteds cannot. There is no summon fee beyond network gas.
Originals retain a 1-in-1,024 roll per valid proof while any remain, in every epoch. These draws are deterministic and can be inspected by miners. Neither pool is guaranteed to be exhausted.
05 / THE ARTWORK
Ghosts use the final 64×64 PNG layers and pairing rules: background, ghost, neck, mouth, eyes, glasses, headwear, and held item. Optional layers can be absent. Held arms match the ghost color. Incompatible traits are excluded.
One-of-ones use their complete original artworks. Burned flames are state artwork, not mintable traits. Burning and a $SPIRIT token are not implemented in this collection.
06 / ON-CHAIN STORAGE
Original PNG bytes live in immutable data contracts. The renderer composes them into SVGs with crisp pixel scaling. The NFT's tokenURI returns base64 JSON containing its name, attributes, and a base64 SVG image. Minted tokens render from their permanently recorded work and awarded variant.
The contract implements ERC-721, ERC-165, ERC-721 metadata, and ERC-2981 with a 5% creator royalty. Royalty payment depends on the marketplace. The website shows confirmed tokens directly from this metadata.
